Kisaku is a neighborhood gem in the Green Lake area of Seattle. Tucked in a primarily residential area, its blue neon sign beckons like an oasis signaling the pristine fresh seafood inside. I always make it a point to stop in when I’m in town for business or pleasure, sometimes directly from the airport with carry-on bag in tow. Both the dining room and sushi bar are spacious, with plenty of space for all and a proper server to customer ratio. Reservations are recommended though, especially on the weekends due to the relatively short hours (last seating even on the weekend is 8 pm). Chef Richard and his efficient crew serve a wide variety of high quality fish that is well presented and basted with a light touch of soy sauce so there is no need to dip which would overshadow the subtle flavors of the fish. The price points are much lower than those at similar restaurants in big cities across the country. On this occasion, I had a seven order lineup - hamachi, salmon, sanma (pike mackerel), albacore, saba, natto hand roll and unagi. With the gracious and generous add-ons of anago and tamago by Chef Richard, I was completely satisfied and am already looking forward to my next visit to Seattle.

Having come here for over a decade, I can confidently say this is one of the best sushi restaurants in Seattle. From the moment you are seated, you are warmly greeted and given a hot towel (oshibori). The quality of the fish blows competition out of the water in taste and price. I recommend either coming in at opening for lunch (for the best sushi value in the city) or making a reservation for dinner to try their omakase and a few shared plates.

It was our second time visiting this place. Service is very friendly, food is delicious and tasty sake as well. We ordered Agedashi tofu, Oyster, Sashimi combo large, and Richard Roll. All were very tasty. Price is also reasonable with a decent volume. We will definitely visit again.

Super good! I got the sushi combination 2 and the staff was super accommodating with me replacing one of the sushis with another type of fish since I can’t have raw salmon :) Food was absolutely excellent and thick pieces of fish too! Definitely will be coming back. My husband loved the leftovers and wants me to bring him with next time Edited to add pictures now that I came here again! Really good

My favorite sushi place in N Seattle. Everything is great, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. I've been eating here for over 15 years, and it's been consistently good to great. I recommend calling ahead for a table.

After driving around for an hour and discovering how many restaurants are now closed in this area of Seattle, we lucked out by finding the local sushi spot. Although you only get 4 pieces, the Kasaki roll was amazing. Anything with that soy paper wrapping - strongly recommend. Service was surprisingly fast for a sushi restaurant and the waiter was very patient and accommodating to my son who has special needs. Great value for the money.

Kisaku has been in Tangletown,a sweet neighborhood just above Green lake, for over a decade and has a strong, loyal following. It is best to get reservations for dinner as the wait can been long. They serve excellent sushi and sashimi - you will see many orders of their Moriawase Special go out; this is a 12 piece selection of sushi or sashimi served with miso soup, the sashimi served with rice. My husband any I both ordered this on our last visit but had slightly different selections. Their sushi is thoughtful and well made. The service is excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. Street parking can be tough, but is worth the effort.

Aug. 15, 2023 I picked up take out, which was ready at the time promised. I was early, so I waited outside - they were very nice and brought the order out to me. We bought a variety of rolls, salads, and a salmon collar. It was all well prepared and very tasty, with subtle flavor details that I look for in a good sushi place. At quick glance the dining room was very relaxed, open, and welcoming including for families. I’d love to eat in sometime. Daily menu updates are posted inside the door. Greeter told me the web menus are very old, so consult the latest menu photos for examples of current offerings.
